Chenxing Luo
Postdoctoral Researcher
Chenxing Luo is a postdoctoral researcher whose work bridges mineral physics and seismology to advance understanding of Earth’s deep interior. His research focuses on interpreting seismic observations by investigating the physical and thermodynamic properties of Earth-forming materials at finite pressures and temperatures. He employs a combination of ab initio calculations, machine-learning–accelerated methods, and atomistic simulations to model mineral behavior under extreme conditions. Chenxing’s work contributes to improving geophysical models, refining material properties used in inversions, and connecting microscopic-scale simulations with macroscopic seismological signatures. He is broadly interested in the coupling between mineral physics, deep-Earth structure, and computational approaches for planetary materials.
