Kui Ren is a Professor of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics at Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. His research focuses on numerical analysis, scientific computation, inverse problems, and partial differential equations, with applications in biomedical imaging, wave propagation in random media, and kinetic modeling.

Professor Ren earned his B.S. from Nanjing University and his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University in 2006. He has held academic positions at the University of Chicago and the University of Texas at Austin before returning to Columbia. His recent work includes studies on imaging in complex media, random graphs and networks, and electrostatic modeling in semiconductor devices.
